There are federal tax credits now available for tax years 2009 and 2010. The credits are for 30% of the cost up to $1,500 for more energy efficient improvements on:

  • Windows and Doors
  • Insulation
  • Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Units
  • Non Solar Water Heaters
  • Metal and Asphalt Roofs
  • Biomass Stoves

 

There are federal tax credits available through 2016 with no upper limit on the following energy efficient improvements:

  • Solar Panels
  • Solar Water Heaters
  • Fuel Cells
  • Small Wind Energy Systems
  • Geothermal Heat Pumps
